In the early aught years,my friend and fan Joey Unger Tucson partied with comedian/actor Bill Odenkirk, after his show in Tucson. They hung out at Joey's place and watched a video of my performance in Flagstaff, from earlier in the year. Bill insisted on having a copy.
Bob Odenkirk is a producer of The Simpsons, and Bill's brother.
Shortly afterwards, we started seeing weird little things from my show in The Simpsons, like a waiter at a Mexican restaurant offering to scat sing the menu.
I went ahead and released the DVD as a bootleg, which it was first, ( so I really went behind) because I figured that if it was something that Bill O had, then everyone else should have the same opportunity.
I have never seen it. Nothing is ever good enough for me, so if I saw it, I wouldn't like it, and wouldn't release it. But it had already been released, so it was moot. Some things you don't have a choice over, and if there was something about it I didn't like....Well, I shouldn't have gone and done that in front of everyone in Flagstaff Arizona.
It is in the same spirit that I offer " Doc's Lab Live Fresno".
The infamously famous soundman -John Karr- recorded my set at SF North Beach club Doc's Lab, and sent it to me. Mike Varney, the Guitar Player Magazine columnist and man responsible for much of the GuitarShredNotesByThePound recordings of an era-he was there- with a big shit eating grin the whole time. Afterward, he told me he thought I had been playing with tracks. I had only recently started playing electronic drums with my foot and sometimes right hand, and John Karr was instrumental in having me turn those up, so they were on equal footing.
It was Jan 17th, 2015, and Moetar Moorea ‘s birthday, and Moetar was playing with their new synth player, a Bass Player Magazine columnist and bad ass bass player Jonathan Herrera. It was also his birthday. My older friend from childhood, and " Lead Guitarist" from the first band I was ever in, was there with his wife. I played at their wedding.
My projector that the audience reads lyrics from was plugged in, in the "on" position, and blew out the light bulb. I had no replacement, so the audience was unable to sing with the fervor and conviction I demand.
I only remember that " Popcorn " was one of the songs I played, and that everyone had a good time. I have never heard this recording. If I did, I wouldn't think it was good enough, and etcetera.
I hope you enjoy it,

Brian Kenney Fresno plays Warr Guitar and everything and the audience sings along.
John Karr, Audio Engineer.
My name is Brian Kenney Fresno, and I have this super fun solo ROCK show
where I sing modern TALES of urban
legends and epics of the absurd- in a
sing along format, mostly about Fresno Ca, my home town, and everytime I say
"Fresno", everybody eats the raisins and says "WHOOO!" in a group
experience.
It's really fun!
Everybody laughs a lot!...more
