When I was eight in mid September
Painful experience I still remember
Weather started turning cold
Needed new coat I was told
Mom and I went K mart, see what we could find

Well you know how Kmart is all some unheard of brand?
Slave in sweatshop made in some far away land
“Big Ol” piles a parkas heaped up on the floor
rivers of raincoats halfway out the door

I tried on a coat with these “Big Ol” pockets
And a hood for keeping dry in the rain
A searing flash went through my body
As I pulled my hand back in pain
I looked in the sleeve and saw something slithering
It’s skin glistening all opaque
I jumped up and down in terror when I realized I’d Been bitten by a snake

Cobras in my coat
It was the scream heard through the store
Oh Mommy, don’t make me try on anymore!
THEY’RE LIVING IN THE SLEEVE!
Oh Mommy, why won’t you believe?

My mother would’nt believe me
And she spanked me when I cried
She never believed the coat I tried on had cobra eggs inside
It just made me so frustrated
Cause why would I have lied?
At least I know that everyone
Felt so guilty when I died
And went on through to the other side

Though I was killed by cobras
I was sent back to this plane
To try and warn you all
So this can never happen again
God said “Brian Kenney Fresno, you are my one and only son
I'm sending you back to the earth so the earth can have way more fun
So warn the people of the cobras and other dangers in their coats
Tell em I said to all sing along
feel the magic and the power in their throats.”
